Licensed Nursing Home Administrator (LNHA)
A well-established skilled nursing facility in eastern Connecticut is seeking an experienced Licensed Nursing Home Administrator to provide steady, growth-oriented leadership. This is a confidential opportunity for a hands-on operator who can support a stable, well-functioning building while helping ensure continued operational excellence, survey readiness, and resident-centered care.
Position Summary
The LNHA will report directly to ownership and oversee all facets of facility operations, including compliance, financial performance, staffing, census support, quality outcomes, and resident and family satisfaction. The current LNHA will remain involved as a knowledgeable resource during the transition. The ideal candidate is an experienced leader who can maintain strong systems, build trust across departments, and support ongoing stability and growth.
Essential responsibilities
  • Lead daily operations of the facility with a focus on quality, compliance, and continuity.
  • Oversee budget development, labor management, accounts receivable and reimbursement performance.
  • Direct QAPI, risk management, admissions oversight, and operational reporting.
  • Partner with department leaders to support staffing stability, clinical outcomes, and resident satisfaction.
  • Maintain readiness for state and federal surveys.
  • Build strong relationships with residents, families, staff, referral partners, and the broader community.
  • Support recruiting, retention, coaching, and leadership development across the organization.
  • Serve as a visible, approachable leader.
Qualifications
  • Active, unrestricted LNHA license in Connecticut, or ability to obtain licensure by endorsement.
  • Experience in skilled nursing facility operations; multi-faceted leadership background preferred.
  • Familiarity with Medicare, Medicaid, and for-profit SNF operations.
  • Strong understanding of compliance, reimbursement, staffing, and resident-centered operations.
  • Proven ability to lead with accountability, communication, and a steady management style.
  • Experience supporting a stable or growth-oriented environment is highly valued.
