Job description

Primary Purpose: Serve as the first point of contact for students, parents, staff, and visitors by providing professional, courteous, and efficient front-office support. The Elementary School Receptionist supports daily campus operations by managing communications, maintaining accurate records, and ensuring a welcoming and secure school environment.
QUALIFICATION:

High School Diploma or GED.

Previous experience in a school office, customer service, or administrative role preferred
 

Special Knowledge/Skills

  • Strong interpersonal and customer service skills
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize in a fast-paced environment
  • Knowledge of basic office procedures and equipment
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and student information systems
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality of student and employee information
  • Familiarity with campus safety procedures and visitor management systems


Major Responsibilities and Duties

Front Office Operations

  • Greet and assist students, parents, staff, and visitors in a professional and welcoming manner
  • Monitor and manage campus entry using visitor sign-in procedures and badge systems
  • Answer and route incoming phone calls and emails appropriately
  • Provide general information regarding campus procedures, schedules, and events

Student Support

  • Assist students with minor needs (tardies, early dismissals, forgotten items, messages)
  • Maintain accurate attendance records, including tardy and early release documentation
  • Communicate attendance information to appropriate staff

Administrative Support

  • Perform clerical duties including filing, data entry, copying, and record maintenance
  • Assist administrators, counselors, and nurses with routine office tasks
  • Prepare and distribute forms, notices, and correspondence as needed
  • Maintain front-office supplies and request replenishment when necessary

Safety and Compliance

  • Follow district and campus procedures related to safety, emergency response, and confidentiality
  • Report concerns related to student welfare, security, or campus operations to administration
  • Support campus drills and emergency procedures

All other duties as assigned.
 

*Minimum Salary $14.83 hourly
*Salary is commensurate with experience
*Works 187 Day Calendar
* Please note that this role requires in-person attendance and is not eligible for remote work.
