Job description

JOB SUMMARY:

The English, Communication and Media Studies department is seeking experienced adjunct instructors to teach first-year composition courses. We have available composition sections for Fall 2026. With recent increases in enrollment, we also anticipate hiring to fill additional part-time openings in AY 27-28.

Instructors should be prepared to teach in person on our beautiful campus in Greensboro, NC. Our students have access to professional consulting in media, writing, and speaking through our Global Communication Center, which includes video and podcasting studios as well as media equipment that can be checked out.

We welcome applications from instructors with a master’s degree in English or Rhetoric and Composition, or an MFA in Creative Writing. The master’s degree should be from a regionally accredited institution, with documented completion of 18 graduate hours in English, composition, or creative writing. Preference is given to experienced teachers who have taught college composition. Participation in regular staff meetings is expected, along with other teaching responsibilities.
