What is an Addus?

Addus workers are caregivers employed by Addus HomeCare, a company that provides in-home care services to seniors and individuals with disabilities. Their primary responsibilities include assisting clients with daily living activities such as bathing, grooming, meal preparation, medication reminders, and light housekeeping. The goal of Addus workers is to help clients maintain their independence and quality of life while remaining in their own homes. They may also offer companionship and support to both clients and their families.

What skills and qualifications are needed to work at Addus?

To thrive as a Home Care Aide at Addus, you generally need a high school diploma or equivalent, basic caregiving knowledge, and sometimes certification as a home health aide or nursing assistant. Familiarity with electronic visit verification (EVV) systems, documentation tools, and basic medical equipment is often required. Compassion, patience, and strong interpersonal skills help build trust with clients and ensure effective care. These competencies are crucial for delivering quality in-home support and maintaining client safety and well-being.

How does working at Addus involve collaboration with other healthcare professionals?

At Addus, caregivers frequently collaborate with nurses, case managers, and social workers to ensure comprehensive care for clients.
