Position Summary:

We are looking for a Production Engineer to lead engineering projects from concept through completion, including equipment acquisitions, facility expansions, and manufacturing process improvements. Responsibilities:
  • Plan and manage engineering projects from concept through completion. This includes projects ranging from new equipment acquisitions to facility construction/expansion.
  • Collaborate with other project managers, facility engineers, and designers to define project requirements. Develop and maintain facility layouts and engineering documentation (Equipment drawing approvals, etc.).
  • Manage external vendors & contractors effectively throughout the lifespan of a project. Develop project justification studies utilizing real-life manufacturing data from programs like Qliksense.
  • Act as the primary contact for facility projects and prepare project budgets & schedules.
  • Assist Engineering Manager to prepare project status reports on a regular basis.
  • Lead and self-manage the implementation of new equipment/technology into current manufacturing processes. This includes the introduction of new manufacturing facilities, suppliers, or distribution locations to the existing supply chain.
  • Apply engineering concepts for the optimization of equipment, procedures, and departmental budgets to achieve better maintainability, reliability, and availability of equipment.
  • Develop solutions to a variety of complex and unique problems that require independent judgement and ingenuity to modify procedure standards related to plant layout, design, and construction.
  • Provide technical support during new equipment installation, commissioning, and testing phases.
  • Coordinate with the Facility Manager and teams to maintain quality of all work process systems and assist in documentation of standard work and training. Utilize LEAN knowledge to ensure efficient facility and/or equipment layouts. Help analyze root causes for manufacturing issues and resolve.
  • Provide technical product assistance when required.
  • Support project coordination/engineered products/sales departments when needed.
  • Abide by all company safety rules, regulations, and policies.
  • Responsible for attending all assigned safety meetings, toolbox talks, and safety training sessions.

Qualifications:
  • B.S. Degree in Manufacturing, Mechanical, or Industrial Engineering.
  • 3-5 years of engineering experience in a manufacturing or industrial setting.
  • In-depth knowledge of AutoCAD, Revit, Solidworks, or other solid modeling software is required.
  • Demonstrated ability in process improvement, metric development, and problem-solving is required.
  • Familiarity with all types of machinery, mechanical equipment, automation, types of construction methods, and construction equipment is preferred. General knowledge of steel fabrication processes (Welding, CNC milling, facing, etc.) is preferred.
  • Familiarity with basic engineering principles and strong mathematical ability is preferred.
  • Experience and proficiency with Microsoft Windows and Microsoft Office Suite is required.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Detail oriented and analytical.
  • Quick learner and self-motivated; possess ability to promptly accomplish tasks with minimal supervision.
  • Familiarity with database management would be beneficial.
  • Work between 3 local sites. Additional travel could be up to 10%
