Job description

MISSION STATEMENT:

Job Description: True North Recovery (TNR) is accepting applications for students seeking
practicum or internship placement as part of their university program requirements. This placement
provides hands-on, supervised experience in a dynamic behavioral health setting serving individuals with
mental health and substance use needs.
Interns will work under the supervision of qualified clinical staff and will gain experience in
documentation, treatment planning, direct client interaction (dependent on program of study), and
interdisciplinary teamwork.
This is an unpaid, temporary educational placement.
ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Participate in clinical, administrative, or programmatic learning bases on degree requirements.
  • Complete documentation within the electronic health record (EHR) as directed.
  • Support staff in tasks aligned with scope of practice and supervision requirements.
  • Maintain professionalism, confidentiality, and ethical standards at all times.
  • Attend required supervision meetings and training sessions.
  • Follow agency policies, procedures, and safety expectations.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS
  • Must be currently enrolled in a university requiring practicum or internship.
  • Must provide program requirements and documentation of academic expectations.
  • Must successfully pass a criminal background check.
  • Must have basic proficiency with computers, including Microsoft Word.
  • Prior experience working within an Electronic Health Record (EHR) preferred.
  • Must submit a current rรฉsumรฉ.
  • Must allow up to 30 days for follow-up and placement determination.

This internship/practicum placement is unpaid and does not include benefits.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
This role is primarily performed in an office building with standard office environment and controlled temperatures. When working outdoors or at a job site the employee may be exposed to construction equipment or other moving objects/equipment; reference job site specifics. The employee is occasionally required to lift and/or move up to 50 lbs. Employee is frequently required to sit, stand, walk, talk/hear, see, read, and personally interact with others.
