Responsibilities

When a user tries new software, they expect it to be intuitive and run smoothly. Functionality, reliability, and user experience are key to successful software development-and that means rigorous testing. That's why we need you, an experienced test engineer who knows how to thoroughly test software and work with developers to make sure our team releases the best software possible.   

As a test engineer on our team, you'll use your experience to work with engineers to evaluate software developed for our nation's defense create a test plan with test cases based on user stories. Using automated and manual processes, you'll generate data and implement the test cases to observe how the software performs, then document the results and communicate defects to the development team so they can start improving the tool.  

You'll automate continuous security and performance testing and monitor the health of large data systems.  This is an opportunity to supercharge your skills by writing the code to test. You'll also broaden your experience in large scale systems and gain skills in new areas such as automation, cloud computing, and Splunk while sharing your testing experience with your team.

Qualifications

You Have:

  • 2+ years of experience as a test engineer developing and executing test scripts and analyzing results while performing system testing of complex systems
  • Experience with Python
  • Experience with using and developing scripts in Python and creating regular expressions for searching data sets
  • Experience with integrating new and old technologies into existing network configurations and test beds
  • Experience creating scenarios that support the creation of test cases and procedures; and the ability to manage discrepancy reports identified during testing
  • Ability to develop, build, and test multiple lab environments using various telephony and networking hardware following formal testing methods
  • Ability to set priorities and rearrange schedules to address unexpected issues; and perform baseline, unit/integration, component, and regression level testing in support of research and development efforts
  • TS/SCI clearance with a polygraph
  • Bachelor's degree in Math, Science, Engineering, Statistics, or Engineering Management and 8 + years of experience as a Test Engineer OR 12 years of experience as a Test Engineer in lieu of a bachelor's degree

  • Experience with GIT
  • Experience with generating Test Plans and RVTMs (Requirements Verification Traceability Matrices)
  • Experience with working in a Linux environmen
  • Knowledge of Jenkins or other Continuous Integration Frameworks desired
  • Knowledge of PyTest automation frameworks desired
  • Knowledge of SPLUNK desired
  • Ability to develop and build multiple lab environments

Compensation at EverWatch is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, the individual's particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is $57.69 to $67.30 per hour.  The estimate displayed represents the typical compensation range for this position and is just one component of EverWatch's total compensation package for employees.
