Job description

Job Summary:
Qualcomm Technologies, Inc. is seeking a highly motivated and passionate Staff Product Manager for ADAS/AD software products. The role involves defining and promoting Qualcomm chipsets for various ADAS and Infotainment use cases, directing a comprehensive product strategy, and managing product goals while collaborating with multiple stakeholders.
Responsibilities:
• Ability to drive/lead engineering discussions with deep technical understanding/knowledge (subject matter level/principal engineer level expertise) on one or more areas related to BSP, drivers, OS, RTOS, AUTOSAR, ADAS/AD middleware, ADAS/AD application stack, In-vehicle Infotainment (IVI) solutions, Android, Linux, Camera sub systems, AI/ML/Neural network processing, Ethernet, Communication protocols, Functional Safety (ISO26262), Automotive SW development process, OpenCL, CUDA and V&V process.
• Define use cases, help with Software architecture, write requirements for SDKs, BSP, ADAS/AD/ Infotainment software/middleware and the total solution value proposition.
• Manages product management team based on organizational needs/goals.
• Work with customers and internal engineering teams on RFIs, RFQs, and system-level use case modelling & analysis
• Develops product goals (e.g., features, performance, cost, timeline, schedules), performs product feasibility, and facilitates cross-functional decision making for products they own.
• Together with advanced knowledge of industry trends and/or competitors’ products, Translate customer requirements, feedback, and market dynamics into potential feature requests to ensure a differentiated product roadmap.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, collaborative, innovative environment, including experience in discussing complex ideas with partners, customers, and executives.
• Validates business cases and determines relevance to organizational strategy; contributes to the creation of the product roadmap to advance organizational strategy and goals.
• Reviews, prepares, and delivers technical presentations regarding product roadmaps, RFI/RFQ/RFP, and/or proposals to demonstrate and market product portfolios to customers and/or prospective customers, and integrates customer feedback into project roadmaps.
• Serves as the authority in the creation of a differentiated roadmap for a product portfolio, facilitates decision making between cross-functional leaders, and achieves buy-in from internal and external stakeholders.
• Drives cross-functional conversations around the development of a software product portfolio that meets customer needs and aligns with ADAS hardware product roadmaps.
• Develops/reviews innovative product development plans, drives and creates/defines software product requirements for multiple new and emerging technologies/products, including determination of cost and impact, and continually reviews ROI of specific products.
• Reviews identified gaps in market based on complex analyses of overall ecosystem demands and makes software product decisions on how these gaps impact roadmaps.
• Drives communication plan and communicates appropriately with internal customers, third-party vendors, and senior management to build relationships, ensure alignment and buy-in, and achieve product goals as well as manage any planned changes.
• Drives effective cross-functional collaboration by ensuring that Engineering and other internal partners (i.e., program management) meet customer expectations, promised deadlines, and align with overall roadmap for software product portfolio(s).
• Translates customer needs, product roadmaps, and organizational strategy into successful software product(s) and facilitates decisions necessary for product delivery by partnering with cross-functional leaders.
Qualifications:
Required:
• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, Humanities, or related field.
• 5+ years of Product Management or related work experience.
• Deep expertise in ADAS/AD/Infotainment software development or software product management.
• Strong focus on Platform software including Linux, QNX, BSP, Embedded Software, Middleware and ADAS SW stack expertise.
• Automotive SW development, Safety/Systems Software expertise, camera sub-systems, image/video processing and machine vision.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to collaborate and influence multiple stakeholders in Product Management, Business Development, HW and SW Engineering, Marketing, Finance, Operations and Sales teams.
Preferred:
• 10+ years of Product Management or related work experience.
• 8+ years of Automotive SW dev/management (incl. requirements/systems) experience.
• 5+ years experience in leading/successfully delivering ADAS/AD Software (stack) products.
• 5+ years experience with leading SW/Systems architecture for ADAS/Infotainment systems.
• 3+ years experience in customer facing engineering/support or product roles.
• Experience with handling budgets & negotiating 3rd party business contracts/agreements with/in large organizations.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving and communication skills.
