Job Description Position: Adaptive Swim Instructor Position Summary: Under the supervision of the Adaptive Programs Manager, the Adaptive Swim Instructor provides inclusive, person-centered instruction to participants with disabilities across ages and ability levels. This role adapts teaching methods, uses supports/equipment as needed, and partners closely with caregivers and the Adaptive Program Manager to set goals, track progress, and promote confidence and water safety. We welcome candidates with experience in disability support, therapeutic recreation, special education, or related fields, and we provide training and coaching.This position requires good leadership, a professional appearance and attitude, self-motivation, and a strong work ethic

The essential skills are the ability to work well with people, teach, motivate, instill trust, and to ensure a positive working environment. It is also necessary to be able to effectively enforce policies and procedures. General Responsibilities: Teaches adaptive water safety/swim lessons to individuals with disabilities Documents daily attendance, completes assessments, and maintains necessary data in Athena platform Is prompt and prepared to begin sessions on time and in an organized fashion; obtains and sets-up equipment prior to a session and puts equipment away when finished Displays professional behavior and is accountable for the safety and positive learning experience for each individual When necessary, responds to family, guardian and caregiver concerns and problems Prepares semi-annual/annual reports when necessary.

Reports should reflect individuals' progress, and behavioral responses while attending lessons. Maintains a safe and clean work area Attends in-service training sessions Performs other duties as required
