Responsibilities
Job Specific Details and Tasks: The duties include, but are not limited to the following:
The Physician provides direct patient care and clinical oversight within an occupational health and urgent care clinic setting. Duties include, but are not limited to:
  • Evaluation, diagnosis, and treatment of acute, non-life-threatening illnesses and injuries common to urgent care settings
  • Conducting occupational health services including pre-employment examinations, medical surveillance exams, fitness-for-duty evaluations, return-to-work assessments, and work-related injury evaluations
  • Interpretation of diagnostic studies (e.g., labs, EKGs, imaging results when available)
  • Management of minor procedures (e.g., wound care, splinting, laceration repair, I amp;D as appropriate)
  • Assessment and stabilization of emergent conditions and coordination of transfer to higher levels of care when required
  • Medical oversight and consultation to clinic nursing staff and allied health professionals
  • Documentation of clinical encounters in the designated electronic health record system in accordance with Government requirements
  • Participation in clinic quality improvement activities and adherence to established clinical protocols
Days/Hours of Operation
Monday - Friday 8:00am - 4:30pm
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
  • Proficiency in occupational health standards and workers’ compensation principles
  • Ability to perform physical examinations and medical evaluations for employment-related determinations
  • Familiarity with OSHA regulations, medical surveillance programs, and workplace injury management
  • Competency in health record and medical information record keeping
  • Ability to adapt to changing clinic demands and Government mission requirements
Minimum Qualifications
  • Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) from an accredited U.S. medical school or equivalent foreign medical education meeting ECFMG requirements
  • Completion of an accredited residency program in Occupational Medicine, Family Medicine, Internal Medicine, Emergency Medicine, or a related specialty
  • Current, full, and unrestricted medical license in at least one U.S. state, territory, or the District of Columbia
  • Current DEA registration if prescribing controlled substances is required
  • Minimum of one (1) year of recent clinical experience in occupational medicine, urgent care, emergency medicine, or primary care
  • Board certification or board eligibility in a relevant specialty is preferred
