Ad Trafficker information

What is an ad trafficker?

An ad trafficker submits and uploads advertisements to broadcast, print, digital, or internet advertising venues. You monitor the progress of advertisement campaigns from their development through the deadline. Your duties include monitoring billing, marketing, and ad placement. Other responsibilities include developing ad strategies for a specific audience or geographic location. You facilitate workflow and communication, meet all deadlines, and publish advertisements at the right time. You may also use code including HTML, Flash, or Java. You troubleshoot inaccuracies, monitor larger campaigns, and generate reports on advertising sales.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as an ad trafficker?

To thrive as an Ad Trafficker, you need strong attention to detail, analytical skills, and a solid understanding of digital advertising principles, often supported by a degree in marketing, communications, or a related field. Proficiency with ad serving platforms such as Google Ad Manager, DoubleClick, and familiarity with tracking and reporting tools are typically required. Excellent organizational skills, clear communication, and the ability to manage multiple campaigns simultaneously help individuals stand out in this role. These skills ensure the accurate setup, execution, and optimization of ad campaigns, driving effective delivery and client satisfaction.

What are some common challenges ad traffickers face when managing multiple campaigns simultaneously?

Ad Traffickers often juggle several campaigns at once, each with different requirements, deadlines, and platforms. A major challenge is maintaining accuracy and attention to detail while ensuring all creatives and tracking tags are implemented correctly and campaigns launch on schedule. Effective communication with account managers, creative teams, and clients is essential to quickly resolve issues or last-minute changes. Staying organized and using ad management tools can help streamline workflows and minimize errors.
