Job description

The Senior DevOps & Cloud Engineer for NBS is an expert on cloud deployments, configuration, support, administration, and technical solutions to various technology components that make up the IT cloud-based environment across the business unit.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Develops, modifies, and maintains IT cloud infrastructure to meet business objectives
2. Implements and provides oversight on technical solutions for various sized projects or daily support initiatives
3. Creates and maintains technical documentation for IT systems and solutions
4. Works with multiple customers, stakeholders, and system owners to produce requirements, determine feasibility, analyze cost/benefits requirements, and recommend design solution options
5. Provides training and technical support for users with varying levels of IT knowledge
6. Completes and evaluates enhancements to routine preventative measures
7. Ensures logging occurs and participates in log analysis for vulnerability reviews, penetration assessments, and network monitoring.
8. Assists in regulatory body attestations to maintain system and network compliance

EDUCATION:
Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related field (equivalent experience may be substituted).
EXPERIENCE:
8+ years of experience in the related competency fields listed below.
COMPETENCIES - SKILLS/KNOWLEDGE/ABILITIES:
1. Expert/in-depth experience or knowledge in the following areas:
a. Certification in Amazon or Azure as Cloud Architect, DevOps Architect or similar
b. AWS or Azure services: cloud concepts and many cloud services
c. Virtualization technologies: VMware, Hyper-V, cloud-based host virtualization, containerization (Docker, Kubernetes)
d. Windows Technologies: PowerShell scripting, server setup, troubleshooting, maintenance
e. Linux Technologies: Bash scripting, SELinux, server setup, troubleshooting, maintenance
f. Networking: subnetting, routing, firewalls, advanced DNS management, load balancers, IDS/IPS, VPN
g. Security: security protocols, security best practices, and vulnerability remediation
h. DevOps: CI/CD design, setup, maintenance, and troubleshooting
2. Abilities in the following areas:
a. Strong analytical, judgement and problem-solving skills.
b. Strong oral and written communication skills.
c. Strong interpersonal skills interact with technical and non-technical clients.
d. Strong documentation and time management skills.
3. Self-motivated.
4. Comfortable working collaboratively as part of a team.
5. Strong bias toward action, delivery, and implementation.
6. Ability to work through complex challenges without guidance.
Compensation range for this role is $120,000-$130,000 annually, depending on experience.
