Overview

Oracle Cloud Infrastructure is building Oracle Video @ Edge, a next-generation streaming platform for premium live and linear video delivery. We are seeking a Senior Principal Ad Tech and Video Protocols Engineer to define how monetization signals, ad workflows, and streaming protocols operate across OVE.

This role will ensure OVE supports revenue-critical ad insertion, measurement, timed metadata, protocol interoperability, and playback continuity across hybrid delivery paths.

US: Hiring Range in USD from: $96,800 to $251,600 per annum. May be eligible for bonus, equity, and compensation deferral.

Candidates are typically placed into the range based on the preceding factors as well as internal peer equity.

Responsibilities

  • Define OVE architecture for ad signaling, timed metadata, protocol behavior, and monetization integration

  • Design integration patterns for SSAI, CSAI, VAST, VMAP, SCTE-35, ad beacons, and measurement workflows

  • Drive protocol compatibility across HLS, DASH, CMAF, low-latency HLS, WebRTC, QUIC, and MoQ-adjacent delivery paths

  • Partner with player, packager, relay, control plane, observability, and product teams to validate live ad workflows

  • Debug playback, protocol, metadata, ad decisioning, and measurement failures during test and live-event scenarios

  • Define requirements for customer integrations, partner ecosystems, and live-event readiness

  • Support customer pilots, post-event reviews, and platform hardening for monetized live streaming

Qualifications

  • 10+ years of experience in video streaming, ad tech, media platforms, protocol engineering, or related distributed systems

  • Deep knowledge of SSAI, CSAI, VAST, VMAP, SCTE-35, timed metadata, ad measurement, and live ad workflows

  • Strong understanding of HLS, DASH, CMAF, low-latency streaming, DRM interactions, playback behavior, and protocol edge cases

  • Experience designing integrations across players, packagers, ad decisioning systems, measurement vendors, CDNs, and edge infrastructure

  • Experience with high-scale live or linear streaming systems is strongly preferred

  • Programming experience in Java, Go, C++, JavaScript, TypeScript, Python, or similar production languages
