Position Overview

Radiant Health Acupuncture in Portsmouth, Virginia, is seeking a dedicated and experienced Acupuncturist to join our collaborative team of health professionals. This full-time role offers an opportunity to practice in an outpatient office setting, where you will play a crucial role in enhancing the physical and emotional wellness of your patients through holistic acupuncture treatments.

Work Environment

You will work out of our Portsmouth outpatient office, where a comfortable and serene atmosphere supports both patient treatment and recovery. The work environment promotes collaboration among practitioners and encourages ongoing learning and exchange of acupuncture techniques. You can expect a standard work schedule from Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, coordinating treatments across two locations to best serve our community.

Key Responsibilities
  • Administer acupuncture treatments using various tools, including needles, cupping devices, ear seeds, and nutritional supplements, tailoring each approach to the individual needs of the patient.
  • Educate patients on essential health topics such as meditation, nutrition, ergonomic practices, breathing exercises, and how these elements contribute to their healing process.
  • Apply complementary therapies, including heat or cold treatments utilizing heat pads, hydro collator packs, and warm compresses, to enhance the effectiveness of acupuncture.
  • Conduct comprehensive assessments by analyzing physical findings and collecting medical histories to formulate diagnoses based on the principles of Oriental medicine.
  • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans, modifying strategies as necessary to effectively support and enhance patient health outcomes.
Patient Population / Client Focus

Your practice will focus on a diverse patient population comprising individuals seeking relief from chronic pain, stress management, and overall wellness. This role requires a compassionate, patient-centered approach, engaging with clients from various backgrounds and health challenges to tailor treatments that resonate with their personal healing journeys.

Qualifications
  • U.S. Citizenship is required to apply.
  • A Bachelor's Degree in a relevant field; candidates with a Master's degree in acupuncture or oriental medicine from an accredited program are highly preferred.
  • Current, full, active, and unrestricted license to practice acupuncture.
  • Board certification through the National Certification Commission for Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine (NCCAOM), must be current and compliant with continuing education requirements.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in both written and spoken English.
Preferred Experience
  • At least 2 years of hands-on experience in acupuncture practice.
  • Experience in coordinating with a multidisciplinary health care team to achieve optimal patient outcomes.
  • Knowledge of additional therapeutic methods such as cupping and nutritional counseling.
  • Familiarity with electronic health records (EHR) systems and patient management software.
