Training Schedule: Monday-Friday | 8:30 AM - 12:30 PM (during the initial training period)
Regular Schedule After Training: Monday-Friday | 7:00 AM - 10:00 AM
This position is based in our Carlsbad office. Any future workplace flexibility is at the discretion of Hospice of the North Coast and based on business needs. (evaluated after 90 days).
POSITION SUMMARY:
The Hospice Scheduling & Clinical Operations Coordinator is responsible for coordinating and managing patient visit scheduling needs that fall outside of the primary RN case manager schedule. This position plays a key role in supporting the clinical team by ensuring timely nursing visits, assisting with staffing coverage, monitoring patient acuity, and helping maintain compliance with Medicare hospice regulations.
The Scheduling & Clinical Operations Coordinator reviews daily and weekend call logs, coordinates follow-up care needs, schedules urgent and PRN nursing visits, and assists Clinical Managers with daily staffing adjustments due to call-outs, Paid Time Off (PTO), or changing patient needs. This position serves as a central point of communication between clinical staff, management, intake, and other departments to help ensure patients receive the right care at the right time.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Education:
High school diploma or equivalent required.
Experience:
Minimum of two (2) years of healthcare scheduling, hospice, home health, or healthcare administrative experience required.
Hospice or home health experience preferred.
Experience coordinating clinician schedules and staffing is preferred.

They demonstrate excellent time management, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills while maintaining accuracy and attention to detail. Success in this role requires the ability to effectively coordinate multiple scheduling requests, communicate clearly with interdisciplinary team members, and proactively identify and resolve operational needs. The successful candidate is collaborative, adaptable, customer service-oriented, and committed to supporting high-quality patient care through efficient clinical operations and regulatory compliance.
