Description:

As a Project Manager at Perini Management Services, reporting to our Design & Operations Manger, you will have the opportunity to:

  • Manage and oversee design-build project(s), lead and coordinate the development of design-build project designs, projects both at the home office and at the project locations.

  • Lead, oversee and coordinate subcontractor Architecture/Engineering firms - all disciplines.

  • Develop and manage design schedules to ensure timely design submissions.

  • Review design-build submittals including phased design documents, released for construction plans, and working drawings for contract compliance and constructability issues.

  • Coordinate design development and design reviews with construction subcontractors to optimize the efficiency and economy of the design.

  • Prepare contract drawing and specification packages in conjunction with the Design Team.

  • Identify permitting requirements and manage development of pre-construction permitting.

  • Represent company in project meetings; comment resolution meetings, design charrettes and preconstruction conferences; oral presentation experience required.

  • Initiate and maintain liaison with prime client to facilitate final construction design packages.

  • Manage project risk through the review and resolution of issues related to the project design and ensure adherence to Perini policies, procedures, and standards.

  • Administer all aspects of the Contract through the design stage, including contracting designers, managing changes, administration of Prime Contract and Subcontracts (invoicing, payments, modifications, etc.), scheduling, etc.

  • Develop and maintain productive and professional relationships with Client, A/E teams, and subcontractors to facilitate working relationships leading into construction activities.

  • Manage construction phase of project should the need arise.

  • Develop and train junior staff.

  • Assume additional responsibilities as directed.

Requirements:

  • Experience as a Design PM or Construction PM Managing 3 or more Projects with Values of Approx. $10+ Million.

  • Four (4) year degree in architectural, engineering or equivalent required.

  • Professional Engineer or Architect Registration a plus.

  • 10 years cumulative experience in design and/or construction management.

  • Design/Build project experience required.

  • Proficient in reading, understanding, and interpreting complex construction contract plans, technical requirements, special provisions, and standard specifications.

  • Excellent writing, communication and interpersonal skills required.

  • Ability to apply innovative and effective management techniques to maximize employee performance.

  • Thorough understanding of corporate and industry practices, processes, standards, etc. and of their impact on project activities.

  • Experience with Federal Government Clients preferred

  • PE, EIT, PMP or other relevant Licenses/Certifications a plus

  • Position is based in our Home Office in Framingham, MA with domestic travel to project sites to be expected.
