We're seeking a joyful and enthusiastic Activity Assistant to join our team at South Mountain Rehab in Boonsboro, MD. As a key member of our care team, you'll have the opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of our residents by designing and leading activities that promote socialization, engagement, and overall well-being.

Job Summary:

As our Activity Assistant, you'll have the opportunity to create connections, foster meaningful experiences, and spread joy to our residents each day. Your role is to understand the unique interests and preferences of each resident, and develop activities that meet their individual needs.

Key Responsibilities:

Create Connections: Facilitate activities for groups and one-on-one that engage residents physically, emotionally, and socially directed under the Life Enrichment Director.
Get to Know Our Residents: Spend time with each resident to understand their likes, dislikes, and preferences, making sure each activity fits their needs and personality.
Welcome Committee: Meet and greet all new residents to make them feel at home and help them join our community.
Report & Reflect: Monitor and document resident participation, behavior changes, and overall engagement in activities. Share these observations to help create a care plan that reflects their evolving needs.
Community Engagement: Collaborate with community volunteers, guiding them and assigning tasks that enrich the activity program.
Safety & Respect: Follow infection control, safety, and privacy protocols at all times, maintaining a comfortable and dignified environment for our residents.
Team Player: Communicate positively and work effectively with residents, families, team members, and supervisors.
Proactive Care: Promptly assist with resident requests, and report any resident concerns or equipment issues to the supervisor.
Continuous Improvement: Attend meetings and training sessions to stay on top of the latest care practices and bring fresh ideas to our activity program.
