Life Enrichment Assistant

  • Status: Part-time

Location: Mountain Ridge1885 East Skyline Drive; South Ogden, UT 84403

Job Summary

The Life Enrichment Assistant is responsible for assisting the Life Enrichment Director in planning, organizing, and implementing life enrichment, events and activities for residents, aiming to enhance their well-being and engagement as required for an independent living, assisted living and/or memory care community.

Essential Duties and Job Responsibilities

Activity Planning & Implementation:

  • Assist in developing and implementing a diverse range of activities, including games, exercise programs, arts and crafts, music sessions, and social events.
  • Create activity schedules and calendars, ensuring a variety of options to cater to different interests and abilities.
  • Prepare activity areas, gather necessary supplies, and ensure a safe and enjoyable environment.

Resident Engagement:

  • Lead group activities and engage residents in one-on-one interactions.
  • Encourage participation in activities and provide support to residents who may need assistance.
  • Observe residents' responses to activities and report any changes in their needs or behavior to the appropriate personnel.

Documentation & Communication:

  • Maintain records of resident participation in activities, including attendance and feedback.
  • Communicate with other staff members, volunteers, and families to coordinate activities and ensure resident needs are met.

Other Duties:

  • Transport residents to and from activities as needed.
  • Assist with setup and cleanup of activity areas.
  • Attend and participate in staff meetings and training sessions.
  • Adhere to safety protocols and maintain a clean and organized work environment.
  • Performs all other duties as assigned.

Requirements

Requirements and Qualifications

  • Prefer experience in long-term care, geriatric rehab, sub-acute and or critical care clinical setting.
  • Experience in electronic medical records documentation.
  • Must hold an active and unencumbered Driver’s License.
  • Experience with volunteer work and or activities work with the geriatric population.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Creative, flexible, patient and empathy working with the geriatric population.
  • Able to make responsible choices and decisions, and act in a resident’s best interest.
  • Excellent verbal communication skills
  • Must maintain and have an active CPR/BLS during employment.
