Student Activities Coordinator for 2026-27 Academic Year. This is a part-time 0.6 FTE, 10-month position.

Who We Are

Located 25 miles northwest of downtown Chicago, Rochelle Zell Jewish High School is a private, co-educational high school. Our mission is to create a culture of academic excellence that inspires and prepares our students to think critically, achieve their full potential, and live Judaism as responsible and involved citizens in the modern world.


Rochelle Zell offers a college preparatory program that combines a rigorous general studies education with a comprehensive Jewish studies education. Rochelle Zell opened its doors as Chicagoland Jewish High School (CJHS) in 2001 to 26 students and has continued to grow. This role sits at the intersection of school culture, student leadership, and community building. This position is ideal for someone who loves working directly with teenagers and believes deeply in the value of life outside the classroom.


This is a unique opportunity to join a highly professional faculty at a school that offers a robust and rigorous dual curriculum in General and Jewish Studies. The Student Activities Coordinator position has the potential to grow and evolve to support institutional needs and the individuals strengths. At minimum, qualified candidates must have earned a bachelors degree with previous experience in both formal and informal educational settings.


Duties and Responsibilities Student Activities Coordinator

TheStudent Activities Coordinatorreportsdirectly totheDirector of Jewish Life.The Student Activities Coordinator also works closely with the Director of Admissions&Recruitment,and the Academic Dean.TheStudent Activities Coordinatorisresponsible forcarrying outthe following duties and responsibilities:


1. Student Leadership and Extracurricular Clubs/Activities

  • Oversee 25+ student clubs end-to-end
  • Advise and support student government(VaadHaStudentim)
  • Run Activities Fair and track participationin clubs throughout the year
  • Manage annual club leadership transitions
  • Train and coach student leaders each fall
  • Recruit, engage, and cultivate student club leadership
  • Directly supervise several specific clubs

2. School Culture and Events

  • Coordinate Spirit Week, Homecoming & Prom
  • Support Jewish holiday programming throughout the year
  • Plan and execute overnight retreats(Shabbatonim)for students
  • Support the planning of longer school trips
  • Manage vendor relationships,logistics,andbudgets

3. Student Support

  • Regular check-ins with new and transfer students
  • Ongoing wellness support for assigned students
  • Coordinate with counselorsandadministrators
  • Member of the Student Services team, which includes weekly meetings, and supporting students social/emotional wellbeing
  • Identifyand promote potential student internship opportunities


4. Recruitment and Communications

  • Participatein school recruitment and enrollment events
  • Support prospective studentshadowdays
  • Help manage student ambassador program
  • Contribute to school communications and social media



Potential Ways to Expand the Role to Full Time

  • Teaching in a General Studies or Jewish Studies content area
  • Teaching an Arts and Electives course
  • Leading a Tefillah elective and/or other involvement in the Tefillah program
