Position Summary
The Event Assistant will work closely with the Events Department, including Event Management, Guest Services, and Event Security. The primary responsibility of the Events Assistant will be to assist and coordinate all activities related to the Events Department and part-time Event Staff.
This role pays an hourly rate of $26.00-$30.00

PeoplesBank Arena is also home to the AHL's Hartford Wolf Pack, the primary developmental affiliate of the New York Rangers. PeoplesBank Arena entertains millions of visitors annually with a variety of concerts, family shows, and ice-skating spectaculars throughout the season. The venue has played host to an extraordinary roster of world-renowned artists, including Sabrina Carpenter, Andrea Bocelli, Bad Bunny, Nicki Minaj, Taylor Swift, Justin Timberlake, Bruce Springsteen, Billy Joel, Pearl Jam, and many others.
PeoplesBank Arena will continue to be the center of sports and entertainment for Hartford and the State of Connecticut for years to come.
Responsibilities
  • Assist with the scheduling of part-time staff - from sending out availability surveys and sending confirmed schedules,to placing staff on "game day" staffing sheets
  • Work during events to assist and coordinate tasks during and after an event
  • Assist with the setup of the employee entrance door and sign in/out of all staff.
  • Help in Guest Services during events to assist with guest questions
  • Distribute uniforms and equipment to staff
  • Assist the Events department with creating event one-sheeters, staff deployment sheets, event data sheets, etc.
  • Assist with the arena lost & found program
  • Complete pre-event building inspection walks
  • Participate in weekly department meetings
  • Assist in the daily tasks of on-site parking garage
  • Sit in/assist on interviews/recruiting efforts
  • Assist event managers coordinate various event activities, including VIP activations, sponsorship activations, etc.
  • Help maintain organized files, handbooks, and staff logs.
  • Other tasks as assigned

Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent. Some completed college coursework with emphasis in event management, sport management, facility management, hospitality management, or related field, preferred
  • 1-2+ years of previous experience in an event-driven role at a stadium, arena, or similar.
  • Ability to work weekdays, weekends, and holidays as needed
  • Ability to work during normal office hours (9:00am - 5:00pm), as well as event shifts
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks at one time and meet deadlines
  • Must have demonstrated ability to function in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment while upholding a positive attitude
  • Ability to provide exceptional customer service even in stressful situations
  • Possess superior interpersonal and communication skills
  • Proficient with computers in a Windows format with experience in Word, Excel and Outlook
  • Detail-oriented, self-motivated, and ability to work independently
  • Ability to stand and walk for long periods of time, climb stairs, and occasionally lift heavy objects.
