Job description

Position Description Receive, process and store found, seized or other property taken into custody by Sheriff's Office staff. Record inventory numbers and item descriptions. Safely store items in proper, designated areas.

Maintain records in a manner that allows ease of retrieval and identification. Retrieve property items for evidentiary use at trials and other legal proceedings, for testing, for laboratory analysis, and for disposal. Assist with the disposal of property items through the Sheriff's sale.

Deliver evidence to and retrieve evidence from BCI and other law enforcement agencies. Maintain a clean and orderly storeroom (e.g. sweeps, dusts.)

Perform other tasks related to the maintenance, retrieval, and disposal of confiscated property. Other duties as assigned. Minimum Qualifications High School Diploma or GED.

Ability to lift 40 lbs. Valid Ohio Driver's License. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Knowledge of inventory control and Sheriff's Office policies and procedures.

Ability to apply principles to solve practical everyday problems, copy material accurately. Recognize grammatical and spelling errors, gather collate and classify information about data, people, and things. Carry out instructions in written, oral or picture form.

Count, copy and record figures. Sort items into categories according to established methods, arrange items in numerical and alphabetical order. Cooperate with co-workers on group projects.
