Job description

Huntington Learning Center in Bloomingdale is hiring tutors for ACT/SAT instruction in English, Math, Reading or Science. We are looking for dedicated teachers to help our students reach a brighter future!
Candidates should possess the following qualities:
  • Responsibility and dependability.
  • Enthusiasm and flexibility.
  • Professionalism.
  • Openness to working with students of various ages and competency levels.

Benefits:
  • Hours available weekdays after school and Saturdays + Sundays 9-1.
  • No lesson plans to create or homework to grade.
  • Teacher certification not necessary, but prefer; excellent opportunity for professionals from ANY industry.
  • Paid initial and ongoing training.
  • Always 1-1 instruction.
  • Flexible schedules (4-20 hours per week).

Job Requirements:
  • Part-time evening and/or weekend availability.
  • College degree required.
  • Type 09 teaching certification is a plus, but is not required for those with Mathematics, Science or Writing expertise (verified by completion of an assessment test).

Experience:
  • Relevant: 1 year (Preferred).
  • Teaching: 1 year (Preferred).

Hours:
  • Monday to Thursday. 3 PM to 8 PM.
  • Saturdays 9 AM to 3 PM.
  • Sundays 10 AM to 4 PM.

Job Responsibilities:
  • Responsibilities include, teaching students, implementing curriculum, communicating student needs to full-time staff, and creating a positive and supportive environment for our students.
  • We offer paid initial and ongoing training in Huntington teaching methods and our highly developed curriculum. There are no lesson plans to create or homework to grade.
  • Compensation is between $17.50 -$20.00/hour based on experience and level of expertise.
