Job description

Continental Properties Company, Inc. is looking for a passionate real estate professional to join our team as an Acquisitions Associate to join our home office in Menomonee Falls, Wisconsin.
As an Acquisition Associate, you will be an essential part of land acquisition and development team for multi-family developments. You will report to our Vice President of Acquisitions providing support in sourcing new deals and provide analytical and research support to qualify identified development opportunities. Requires experience in financial modeling or a real estate finance and development background.
We embrace a hybrid model that gives our team members autonomy over how they work, paired with a shared commitment to in-person collaboration (3 days per week in-office) #LI-Hybrid
Essential Responsibilities:
  • Assist in identification of off-market opportunities in approved markets, network and develop relationships with landowners, and track all necessary contact interaction details
  • Maintain active pipeline report and complete additional research on approved markets to assist in creating the project sourcing strategy, along with the prioritization of submarkets within each market
  • Travel to target markets for site selection trips, meet with local market leaders, create a local presence for Continental in a select group of markets
  • Conduct outreach with municipalities to drive interest in Continental and our rental housing product; obtain understanding of areas/sites where the municipality would support rental housing
  • Assist in underwriting through closing processes for new potential developments.
  • Maintain market knowledge including submarket rents by product type, construction and site costs, supply and demand trends, and active political players.
  • Prepare letters of intent ("LOIs") and other various paperwork in advance of real estate transactions

Skills for Success:
  • At least 1 year of experience in a related real estate role underwriting and analyzing deals
  • Bachelor's Degree in Real Estate, Finance, or Business required; emphasis in Real Estate desired
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, can build relationships easily; uses diplomacy and tact
  • Can negotiate skillfully in tough situations; good at focused listening; can settle disputes equitably
  • Proficient in Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
