Job Summary:
The CNC Mill Machine Operator will be responsible for the equipment and ensure proper set up, start up, shut-down procedures and safe operation. The operator will play a key role in improving safety, quality, productivity, and cost on existing manufacturing processes.
Essential Responsibilities
Remove products or workpieces from production equipment.
Align parts or workpieces to ensure proper assembly.
Set equipment controls to meet cutting specifications.
Monitor equipment operation to ensure that products are not flawed.
Mount attachments or tools onto production equipment.
Select production equipment according to product specifications.
Mount materials or workpieces onto production equipment.
Review blueprints or other instructions to determine operational methods or sequences.
Sharpen cutting or grinding tools.
Replace worn equipment components.
Operate grinding equipment.
Read work orders or other instructions to determine product specifications or materials requirements.
Calculate dimensions of workpieces, products, or equipment.
Feed materials or products into or through equipment.
Determine production equipment settings.
Record operational or production data.
Construct patterns, templates, or other work aids.
Adjust equipment controls to regulate coolant flow.
Qualifications
1-3 years of experience with CNC machinery (or similar equipment).
Proficiency in operating CNC machines, and other milling equipment.
Strong mechanical knowledge and understanding of machining processes.
Ability to read and interpret work orders.
Familiarity with using precision measuring instruments such as calipers and micrometers.
Basic math skills for performing calculations related to dimensions, tolerances, and angles.
Experience in fabricating and assembling components.
Knowledge of stationary crane operation for moving heavy materials.
