ACERO Building Components has been in the Carport Industry for over 20 year. We are expanding our operations, and looking for PART-TIME PAYROLL SPECIALIST.

About the Role:

The Payroll Specialist plays a critical role in ensuring accurate and timely processing of employee compensation within the organization. This position is responsible for managing the end-to-end payroll process, including calculating wages, deductions, and benefits in compliance with federal, state, and local regulations. The Payroll Specialist will maintain and update payroll records, resolve discrepancies, and collaborate with HR and finance teams to ensure seamless payroll operations. A key outcome of this role is to guarantee that all payroll activities are executed with precision, confidentiality, and adherence to company policies and legal requirements. Ultimately, the Payroll Specialist contributes to employee satisfaction by ensuring that payroll is processed correctly and on schedule.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Proven experience as a Payroll Specialist or similar role with a strong understanding of payroll tax regulations and payroll processing.

  • Proficiency in payroll systems and software, specifically Ultipro and PeopleSoft.

  • Solid knowledge of federal, state, and local payroll tax laws and compliance requirements within the United States.

  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in handling sensitive payroll data.

  • Excellent organizational and communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Certification in payroll management such as Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) or Fundamental Payroll Certification (FPC).

  • Experience working in a multi-state payroll environment.

  • Familiarity with additional payroll software platforms and HRIS systems.

  • Background in accounting or finance to support payroll reconciliation and reporting.

  • Demonstrated ability to implement process improvements within payroll operations.

Responsibilities:

  • Process and execute payroll for all employees accurately and on time using payroll software such as Ultipro and PeopleSoft.

  • Calculate and remit payroll taxes, including federal, state, and local tax withholdings, ensuring compliance with all applicable laws.

  • Maintain and update payroll accounts, records, and reports to reflect changes in employee status, benefits, and deductions.

  • Investigate and resolve payroll discrepancies or issues by collaborating with HR, finance, and employees as needed.

  • Prepare and submit required payroll tax filings and reports to government agencies in a timely manner.

  • Support audits and provide documentation related to payroll processes and transactions.

  • Continuously review payroll processes and systems to identify opportunities for improvement and increased efficiency.

The Payroll Specialist utilizes their expertise in payroll tax regulations and payroll processing to ensure compliance and accuracy in every payroll cycle. Proficiency with payroll software such as Ultipro and PeopleSoft enables efficient data entry, payroll calculations, and reporting.
