  • $100k annual salary
  • Discretionary quarterly bonuses
  • 401k with matching up to 6% (100% on the first 3%, 50% on the next 3%)

Position Purpose:


The AR Manager undertakes all operational aspects of accounts receivable and rebates. This includes managing daily AR activities and management of all AR and rebate accounting staff. Also, the AR manager ensures proper accounting and recording of company transactions, while confirming they are performed in an accurate and timely manner. Additionally, the manager assists in preparations of financial statements and other key reports for executive management.


Supervisory Duties:


  • Oversee employees’ performance to ensure departmental duties and goals are executed timely, provide guidance, support, and identify development needs. 
  • Collaborate with Human Resources regarding any personnel issues.
  • Review timecards to ensure employee’s time is accurately recorded and complete. 
  • Approves time off requests and manages staffing needs such as scheduling coverage. 
  • Coach and train employees for performance improvement and development.
  • Distribute and delegate labor tasks according to individual staffing strengths.
  • Supervises the activities of all the merchandisers and merchandiser supervisors and manages the departmental staffing needs by recruiting, hiring, training new staff, and retaining skilled staff. 
  • Work closely with the leadership team on management strategies to achieve goals that contribute to the growth of the organization. 


Functions or Duties:


  • Plans, directs, and coordinates accounting operational functions with a focus on AR and rebates
  • Collaborates and coordinates with other accounting staff to produce consolidated financial statements and other key reports 
  • Provides status of financial condition by collecting, interpreting, and reporting financial data to executive management
  • Supervises the activities of the staff including hiring, training, and retaining skilled staff
  • Provides general AR direction in overseeing the reconciliation of customer account discrepancies, evaluation of new customer applications, and setting guidelines on customer terms
  • Establishes schedules, collects, analyzes, and consolidates financial data; confers with upper executive management regarding budgets/strategies to meet overall company objectives and goals 
  • Assesses current AR operations while offering recommendations for improvement and implementing new processes
  • Oversees and ensures compliance with state and federal regulatory requirements and multiple state and federal agency tax reports for accuracy and timeliness
  • Interfaces with outside audit firms, bank and lessors, casualty/liability insurance agent (s), credit card companies, and collection agencies
  • Monitors and confirms financial condition by conducting internal audits; coordinating year-end audits, preparation of audit materials; implements corrections driven by audit results
  • Collaborates with other departments on processes and procedures to ensure implementation of customer and vendor bill backs; including working with all applicable departments to provide accurate analysis and oversight of billback procedures
  • Protects operations by keeping financial information and plans confidential
  • Works closely with all other departments to streamline accounting and financial operations with company goals

Minimum Qualifications:

Knowledge and Skills


• Proven working experience in AR and Management roles

• Ability to effectively prioritize and complete work to meet deadlines

• Effective, professional communication skills

• Experience with general ledger functions and the month-end/year end close process

• High level problem solving, coordinating and time management skills

• Must be able to calculate figures and amounts for all bookkeeping, budgets, statistical analysis and probability statements

• Experience implementing new software solutions, including creating SOPs and driving departmental adoption

• Strong customer service skills, including ability to deescalate or resolve conflicts in the moment.

• Thorough knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles

• Experience with Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook, particularly spreadsheet reporting skills

• Must be able to pass a non-THC drug test and background check.


Education and Experience:


• Bachelor’s Degree and higher Accounting or related field is preferred

• 3-5 Years financial closing experience (month-end and year-end) required

• Minimum five years of progressive accounting experience required

• Minimum three years direct management experience required

• Minimum three years customer service experience

• Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting required
