Job Title: Accounting Clerk


Department: Accounting Department


Reports to: Accounting Manager


 

Job Summary:

An Accounting Clerk provides day-to-day accounting and billing support, processes transactions, completes account reconciliations and client billing across various third-party systems, and assists in database maintenance.


Responsibilities:

• Prepares daily bookkeeping tasks

• Assists with month-end billing process

• Monitors the flow of the accounting email inbox

• Manages the AR function by applying cash receipts

• Supports the AP function by reviewing coding or by preparing various journal entries

• Assists with the billing function of client invoices

• Assists with the monthly, quarterly, annual client and firm reporting

• Assists with the definition and documentation of bookkeeping policies and procedures Required


 Skills/Abilities:

• Ability to work effectively as a team member as well as independently

• Ability to organize workflow and manage time efficiently

• Demonstrates strong attention to detail

• Maintains a high level of service to internal and external clients

• Possesses excellent interpersonal skills, with a strong ability to effectively communicate verbally and in writing with staff

• ProLaw experience (Juris, Elite, or equivalent accounting software)

• Proficiency with Microsoft Office especially with higher-level Excel functionality


Education and Experience:

• Associate or bachelor’s degree in a related field

• Relevant work experience


Physical Requirements:

• Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer

• Must be able to lift up to 5 pounds at times

• Work in the office three days a week
