Title: Senior Payroll and Accounts Payable Specialist
Location: Las Vegas, NV
Schedule: Onsite | Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM-5:00 PM
Pay: $33-$41 per hour (commensurate with experience)
Employment Type: Full-time, Non-Exempt (eligible for overtime)
Reports To: Controller

What You'll Be Doing:
  • Process bi-weekly payroll accurately and on time, ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local laws.
  • Review weekly timesheets for accuracy, approvals, and proper project coding.
  • Manage benefits deductions, 401(k) contributions, and wage garnishments.
  • Prepare payroll journal entries and reconcile payroll-related accounts.
  • Maintain up-to-date employee payroll records for new hires, terminations, and pay changes.
  • Support benefit administration and coordinate updates with HR.
  • Review, verify, and process vendor invoices, reimbursements, and credit card transactions.
  • Prepare and execute weekly payments via checks and ACH; reconcile vendor statements.
  • Record daily cash receipts in Deltek Vantagepoint or similar accounting software.
  • Perform monthly bank and balance sheet reconciliations in compliance with GAAP.
  • Prepare and file monthly sales and use tax returns.
  • Support month-end and year-end close processes, including journal entries and account reconciliations.
  • Provide documentation for audits and assist external auditors as needed.
  • Collaborate with accounting and HR teams to improve processes and ensure compliance.
What We're Looking For:
  • Associate or Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (required).
  • Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in payroll, accounts payable, or accounting.
  • Strong understanding of accounting principles and month-end close procedures.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office applications.
  • Experience with Paychex or Paylocity preferred; Deltek Vision/Vantagepoint familiarity a plus.
  • Experience in the AEC (architecture, engineering, or construction) industry preferred.
  • Excellent attention to detail, time management, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work independently while maintaining a collaborative, team-oriented approach.
  • Professionalism, discretion, and strong communication skills.
