Franklin Street is currently seeking an Accounting Manager to join our team in Tampa, FL.


The ideal candidate must possess a bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field and 5 years of progressive accounting experience, including team leadership and multi-entity financial reporting.


Position Overview:

The Corporate Accounting Manager is responsible for leading the day-to-day corporate accounting operations while ensuring the integrity, accuracy, and timeliness of the Company's financial reporting. This role partners closely with the Controller and Chief Financial Officer to oversee the monthly close process, maintain strong internal controls, support strategic initiatives, and drive continuous process improvements.

The Corporate Accounting Manager serves as a leader within the Finance & Accounting Department by developing staff, leveraging technology and automation, improving accounting processes, and supporting the Company's continued growth. The ideal candidate combines strong technical accounting expertise with a collaborative leadership style, exceptional analytical skills, and a passion for operational excellence.


Financial Reporting & Accounting

  • Manage and oversee the monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close process while ensuring timely and accurate reporting.
  • Prepare, review, and approve journal entries, account reconciliations, and supporting schedules.
  • Review monthly financial statements and ensure compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
  • Maintain the integrity of the general ledger and chart of accounts.
  • Analyze financial results and investigate variances to ensure completeness and accuracy.
  • Ensure appropriate accounting treatment for complex transactions and new business initiatives.
  • Assist in preparing financial reporting packages for executive leadership.

Leadership & Team Development

  • Supervise, mentor, and develop the Corporate Accounting team.
  • Establish performance expectations, provide coaching, and promote professional development.
  • Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, continuous learning, and customer service.
  • Assist with recruiting, onboarding, and training accounting personnel as needed.

Internal Controls & Compliance

  • Maintain and strengthen accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, GAAP, and applicable regulatory requirements.
  • Coordinate annual financial statement audits and serve as a primary liaison with external auditors.
  • Assist with implementation of audit recommendations and control enhancements.

Process Improvement & Technology

  • Identify opportunities to streamline accounting workflows through automation and process redesign.
  • Lead initiatives that improve efficiency, accuracy, and scalability across accounting operations.
  • Utilize AI-powered tools and emerging technologies to automate routine processes, improve reporting, and enhance decision-making.
  • Support ERP optimization initiatives, including NetSuite enhancements, integrations, and reporting improvements.
  • Develop and maintain documentation for accounting processes and standard operating procedures.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field from an accredited college or university.
  • Minimum of 5 years of progressive accounting experience, including leadership or supervisory responsibilities.
  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) designation strongly preferred.
  • Public accounting experience preferred.
  • Experience managing month-end close and financial reporting in a multi-entity organization preferred.
  • Experience supporting external audits and maintaining strong internal controls.
  • NetSuite ERP experience strongly preferred.
  • Experience with financial reporting, budgeting, planning, business intelligence, and reporting tools is highly desirable.
  • Demonstrated experience implementing accounting process improvements, automation, or AI-driven solutions preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of U.S. Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
  • Demonstrated leadership and people management skills.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
  • Advanced organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail.
  • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
