Madden's is seeking a Senior Accountant to join our Finance team. This position plays a key role in processing accounts receivable (AR) transactions, month end functions, supporting accounts payable and cash operations as needed, and completing assigned account reconciliations. This role helps ensure accurate financial records, timely payment applications, proper cash controls, and compliance with company policies and accounting procedures. This role is 100% onsite.
  • Own all Accounts Receivable functions including:
    • Ensure that group billings and accounts receivable are collected promptly
    • Accurately apply daily cash receipts to guests, group, corporate, and other accounts receivable balances
    • Research and resolve unapplied cash, unidentified payments, short payments, overpayments, and account discrepancies
    • Build and communicate AR aging to the sales team and review outstanding balances weekly; track and assist the sales team in reporting AR aging
    • Review and reconcile all AR accounts to the general ledger monthly
  • Monitor cash overages/shortages and investigate variances
  • Prepare bank deposits and ensure that periodic bank and cash reconciliations are completed
  • Prepare and file monthly sales tax returns
  • Backup accounts payable processing and support vendor payments as needed
  • Own month-end closing process within the first 10 days of each month
  • Assist the Controller in preparing year end audit work papers
  • Collaborate with department managers and team members to resolve accounting issues
  • Perform other accounting and administrative duties as assigned

Requirements & Skills:

Expected Hours of Work:
