Position Summary
We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Real Estate Accounting Manager to oversee the accounting operations of our growing real estate organization. This position is responsible for managing the day-to-day accounting functions, financial reporting, budgeting, and compliance for multiple entities. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, extensive real estate accounting experience, and a passion for process improvement.
Key Responsibilities
  • Manage daily accounting operations, including general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and bank reconciliations.
  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
  • Oversee accounting for brokerage operations and affiliated companies.
  • Maintain and reconcile operating accounts.
  • Prepare annual budgets and financial forecasts.
  • Coordinate year-end audits and tax preparation with external CPAs.
  • Monitor cash flow and recommend financial strategies to improve profitability.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local financial reporting requirements.
  • Supervise and mentor accounting staff.
  • Develop and improve accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls.
  • Assist executive leadership with financial analysis and special projects.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
  • CPA designation preferred but not required.
  • Minimum 5 years of progressive accounting experience.
  • At least 3 years in a management or supervisory role.
  • Real estate brokerage, property management, or real estate investment accounting experience strongly preferred.
