Description

Position Scope
Reporting to the Accounting Manager, the Accountant handles full-cycle accounting for the parent company and subsidiaries, including AR/AP, reconciliations, month-end close, and audits. The role also manages tax filings, intercompany transactions, budgeting, and compliance. You'll work closely with internal teams, local accountants, and external auditors to deliver accurate, timely financial insights.

Key Responsibilities

Parent Company:

  • Perform day-to-day accounting tasks, including AR, AP, bank reconciliations, and related duties.
  • Prepare and file GST and PST returns on a monthly basis.
  • Assist in the preparation of month-end financial and management reports, as well as year-end accounts audit and review.
  • Coordinate activities with external auditors.
  • Evaluate and enhance existing accounting processes and internal controls.
  • Track costs for local and global projects.
Subsidiaries:
  • Maintain the books for subsidiaries, including supporting VAT filing.
  • Prepare and manage intercompany transactions between the parent company and subsidiaries.
  • Prepare or coordinate with local accountants to produce monthly financial statements and management reports for the parent company.
  • Collaborate with local accountants to close books and prepare year-end financial statements for audit/review and bank compliance, if applicable.
  • Coordinate with local tax accountants to report and pay payroll, sales, corporate income tax, and other statutory filings.
  • Work with subsidiaries' managers to prepare annual budgets.
  • Conduct regular cash flow analysis for each subsidiary.
  • Oversee compliance with bank covenants and prepare compliance certificates as required.
Skills & qualifications
  • CPA designation required.
  • 3 years or more of full-cycle accounting experience, preferably in manufacturing or multi-entity companies.
  • Experience with Microsoft Dynamics NAV is an advantage.
  • Strong computer skills, advanced proficiency in Excel and Microsoft Office.
  • Detail-oriented, organized, and able to meet deadlines.
  • Excellent written and verbal English communication skills.
