Position Summary
St. Alphonsus Catholic Church seeks a detail-oriented and mission-driven Bookkeeper / Office Manager to support the administrative and financial operations of the parish. This position plays a vital role in ensuring accurate financial management while also overseeing the daily operations of the parish office. The ideal candidate is organized, trustworthy, and committed to serving the mission of the Church through professional stewardship and welcoming service to parishioners, staff, and visitors. This position is Part-Time, 9am-2pm, Monday-Thursday and reports directly to the Pastor
Key Responsibilities
Financial Management
  • Maintain accurate parish financial records in accordance with Diocesan policies.
  • Process accounts payable, deposits, and weekly offertory.
  • Reconcile bank and financial statements.
  • Assist the Pastor with budget tracking, financial reports, and annual financial submissions.
  • Maintain confidential payroll and employee records as needed.

Office Administration
  • Manage daily parish office operations and serve as a primary point of contact for parishioners and visitors.
  • Oversee parish calendars, facility scheduling, and office communications.
  • Maintain parish records, sacramental registers, and filing systems.
  • Coordinate with diocesan offices when required.
  • Order office supplies and ensure efficient office organization.

Parish Support
  • Provide administrative support to the Pastor and parish ministries.
  • Assist with parish communications, bulletins, and announcements as needed.
  • Foster a welcoming and professional environment within the parish office.

Requirements
Qualifications
  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in accounting, business administration, or related field preferred.
  • Experience in bookkeeping, accounting, or office management required.
  • Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office.
