Our client, a well-established architecture and design firm, is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Junior Project Accountant to join their team. This is an excellent opportunity for an accounting professional looking to build their career in project accounting within a creative and professional environment.

Working closely with the accounting and project teams, the Junior Project Accountant will provide support with project invoicing, accounting, billing, and administrative tasks, while gaining valuable exposure to project financial management.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist with project invoicing and billing for a portfolio of architecture and design projects.
  • Prepare and process client invoices, ensuring accuracy and proper project allocation.
  • Assist with tracking project costs, budgets, and billings.
  • Review and enter project-related invoices and expenses.
  • Assist with accounts payable, accounts receivable, reconciliations, and other accounting duties.
  • Maintain accurate project records and financial documentation.
  • Work closely with Project Managers and the accounting team to resolve billing and project accounting questions.
  • Assist with month-end processes, reporting, and account reconciliations.
  • Support general administrative and accounting tasks as required.

Qualifications

  • Accounting Diploma required; NAIT Accounting Diploma strongly preferred.
  • 1–2 years of accounting or related experience; co-op or internship experience will be considered.
  • Strong interest in developing a career in project accounting.
  • Excellent attention to detail and numerical accuracy.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills with the ability to manage multiple deadlines.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Experience with accounting software is an asset.
  • Previous experience in architecture, engineering, construction, or professional services is an asset.
