Job description

Overview

We are seeking a detail-oriented Staff Accountant - Income Auditor to support the Finance team by ensuring the accuracy and integrity of the resort's daily revenue reporting and financial records. The Staff Accountant - Income Auditor audits daily resort revenues, reconciles financial activity, prepares journal entries, supports month-end close, and partners with operational departments to maintain accurate financial reporting.

Responsibilities
  • Audit daily revenue from Rooms, Food & Beverage, Banquets, Spa, Golf, Retail, and Recreation.
  • Verify room revenue, taxes, service charges, discounts, and package postings.
  • Review PMS, POS, and accounting system interfaces.
  • Investigate and resolve revenue discrepancies.
  • Prepare and distribute Daily Revenue Reports.
  • Review cash over/short reports and manager adjustments.
  • Prepare journal entries and balance sheet reconciliations.
  • Support month-end close, budgeting, forecasting, and audits.
  • Assist with sales tax reporting and maintain accounting documentation.
  • Recommend process improvements and strengthen internal controls.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or related field
  • 2-4 years of accounting experience
  • Strong understanding of GAAP
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills
  • Hospitality or hotel accounting experience
  • Income Audit experience
  • Experience with hotel PMS and POS systems
  • ERP/accounting software experience
