Job description

The Job San Bernardino County is recruiting for paid Accounting & Finance Student/Graduate Interns to support the Fiscal Divisions within the Real Estate Services (RESD) and Project and Facilities Management (PFM) Departments. This is an exciting opportunity for current students and recent graduates to gain hands-on experience in public-sector accounting and finance while supporting essential County operations. Interns will assist with a variety of accounting, budgeting, financial analysis, reporting, and other fiscal-related duties.

Through this experience, interns will develop practical skills in maintaining and analyzing financial records, budget development, expenditure tracking, data analysis, financial reporting, and governmental financial processes while collaborating with experienced public-sector professionals. This internship is designed to provide meaningful experience for students and recent graduates interested in careers in finance, accounting, budgeting, or public administration. Intern positions are temporary assignments and do not confer status as regular County employees; however, they offer valuable hands-on experience and exposure to future County employment opportunities.

SALARY RANGES Student Intern: $22.88 - $29.14 per hour Graduate Intern: $25.17 - $29.89 per hour CONDITIONS OF THE INTERNSHIP Pre-Employment Process: Incumbents must pass a background investigation, which includes fingerprinting, work history verification, as well as a job-related physical exam and drug screening. Position Type: Student/Graduate Intern positions are temporary positions and do not obtain status as a regular County employees. Sponsorship: San Bernardino County is unable to consider to candidates who require Visa Sponsorship at this time or in the future

Candidates must be able to present their legal right to work in the United States at the time of employment. Minimum Requirements Student Level: Must be currently enrolled in an accredited four-year college or university and pursuing a bachelor's degree in Finance, Business Administration, Economics, Accounting, Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, or a closely related field. Graduate Level: Must have earned a bachelor's degree from an accredited four-year college or university within the past two (2) years in Finance, Business Administration, Economics, Accounting, Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, or a related field.

Must be currently enrolled in, or planning to enroll in, a master's or doctoral program. Note: Employment as a Graduate Student Intern is limited to individuals pursuing an advanced degree in a professional field. Students may be hired between academic terms if they intend to continue their studies and can provide proof of upcoming enrollment in a college or university.
