Job description

What we do:

The Trade Desk is seeking a Staff Accountant to be part of the Accounting Team. This role will report to the Accounting Associate Manager and will be part of a high-caliber Accounting and Finance team. The Staff Accountant will help ensure that all treasury accounting activities such as daily cash reporting, treasury related journal entries, account reconciliations, and quarterly disclosures are prepared timely and accurately. We are looking for someone highly motivated, proactive, and eager to learn and contribute to the team.

What you'll do:

  • Participate in the month-end close process including preparation of journal entries, account reconciliations and general ledger transactions.
  • Prepare monthly and quarterly flux and variance explanations.
  • Prepare daily cash reporting and own cash related systems (ie. Kyriba).
  • Prepare treasury related quarterly disclosures (ie. cash, investments, debt).
  • Assist in researching, documenting, and implementing the impact of current accounting conventions.
  • Respond to information requests and assist with audits.
  • Strong interest in continuously improving the automation of the accounting and reporting process.
  • Be the main point of contact for inquiries from AR/AP/Tax/Equity related bank transactions.
  • Participate in various department-wide initiatives.
  • Maintain, implement, and adhere to internal controls under SOX and accounting procedures ensuring compliance with GAAP.
  • Assist management with special projects and ad-hoc requests, as needed.

Who you are: 

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics or related field preferred
  • 0-2+ years of experience in corporate accounting, public company experience a plus
  • Ability to meet tight deadlines, while maintaining accuracy of information and attention to detail
  • Working knowledge of GAAP
  • Outstanding verbal, written and interpersonal skills
  • Intermediate to advanced Excel skills, including lookups, pivot tables, and nested formulas
  • Self-starter and an exceptional team player
