Job description

About the role:

At Setpoint Capital, we focus on asset-backed private credit investments where we can bring unique value through our technology, operations, and insights. We integrate financial expertise with operational excellence to create capital solutions that enhance efficiency for our partners and investors.

We are looking for an Accounting Associate to join our team!

This is an early-career accounting opportunity focused on cash reconciliations, ledger accuracy, and maintaining the integrity of Setpoint's accounting ERP (NetSuite). We're looking for someone who enjoys digging into the details, takes pride in producing accurate work, and is comfortable owning high-volume transactional processes in a fast-paced environment.

Who will love this job:
  • A detail-oriented doer: You take pride in getting the numbers exactly right, every time.
  • A reliable finisher: You complete recurring processes on schedule.
  • An independent problem-solver: You can research a reconciling item back to its root cause without much hand-holding.
  • A scrappy team player: You thrive in early-stage environments with lots of moving parts, priorities, roles and responsibilities.
  • A clear communicator: You document your work so it holds up to audit and independent review.
What you'll do:
  • Reconcile cash across all accounts, matching bank activity to ledger activity in NetSuite, Setpoint's accounting ERP.
  • Research and resolve reconciling items, including wires, capital calls, distributions, facility draws and paydowns, and fees.
  • Keep clean, well-documented reconciliation support suitable for audit and independent review, ensuring activity is coded to the correct entity, account, and period.
  • Prepare and post journal entries accurately and on schedule, with adequate supporting documentation, for review and approval by a manager or designated peer.
  • As capacity allows, support month-end close, manual schedules, and audit and tax requests.
You should have:
  • A bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field, or equivalent hands-on bookkeeping/accounting experience in lieu of a degree.
  • Experience reconciling cash or bank activity in an accounting system; prior exposure to NetSuite is a plus but not required.
  • Strong attention to detail and comfort with high-volume, transactional work.
  • Ability to research and resolve discrepancies independently, then document findings clearly.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to meet recurring monthly and quarterly deadlines.
  • Clear written communication, since your reconciliation support needs to hold up to a reviewer or auditor who wasn't in the room.
