Job description

Welcome to the exhilarating world of hotel accounting! Picture yourself as a fearless dragon guarding a treasure hoard, navigating through the world of cash counting and float balancing. As part of our dynamic Atlas° crew, you'll be the vigilant guardian behind the scenes, ensuring that every dollar finds its rightful place within our treasure trove. Reporting to our Controller, you'll be an essential part of the accounting unit, ensuring that every number is perfectly balanced and that our financial records shine like priceless gems.


Your primary responsibilities include:
  • Processing revenue, daily cash outs and tips
  • Making sure our ATMs are properly stocked and working
  • Emptying out VLTs, reconciling revenue and assisting with troubleshooting
  • Preparing floats and balancing cash on hand
  • Preparing daily sales revenue journal entries
  • Preparing deposits
  • Accounts payable assistance and basic account reconciliations
  • Data entry
  • Other administrative tasks and duties as required

Qualifications:
  • Required: A minimum 2-year Accounting Diploma from Saskatchewan Polytechnic or an equivalent institution, plus at least 3 years of related work experience.
  • Strong Microsoft Office skills, particularly Excel, along with proven cash-handling experience.
  • A solid understanding of accounting principles, calculations, reconciliations, and discrepancy detection, with strong attention to detail and time-management skills.
  • Experience with Sage 300 and/or other accounting software.
  • Strong and clear verbal and written communication skills for working with customers, vendors, and internal teams.
  • Beneficial: Familiarity with Opera or other hotel/property management systems.
  • Availability: This is a full-time, Thursday-to-Monday position, typically working 8:00 AM–4:30 PM, including statutory holidays.
