This position is located at the Regional Accounting Office, Quality of Life (QOL) Programs (J9), Joint Region Marianas (JRM), Guam. The mission of JRM J9 is to provide the highest quality programs and services to the military community through self-sustainment across all QOL programs.Qualifications:In order to qualify for this position, resumes must include information which demonstrates experience and knowledge, skills, and ability (KSAs) as they relate to this position. Experience in work which provides comprehensive knowledge of double-entry accrual accounting methods, procedures and techniques used in maintaining and analyzing all classes of accounts in the accounting system and encompassing a number of diversified activities. Knowledge and understanding of the regulations, guidance and procedures sufficient to interpret and apply them in a variety of accounting situations. Knowledge of procedures used to enter, modify, retrieve and delete information in an automated general ledger system and the ability to analyze the interrelationship of accounts that are affected by various transactions. Knowledge of budgeting and financial management. Skill in applying extensive and diverse accounting regulations, operations, and procedures governing a wide variety of types of related transactions to resolve nonstandard transactions, complaints, or discrepancies, provide advice, or perform other work that requires authoritative procedural knowledge. Skill in the use of Microsoft Office Programs (e.g., Word, Excel, Power Point, Outlook). Ability to supervise and direct the work of other employees, monitor performance, and assure adequate internal control procedures are developed and operative. Ability to motivate, train, and work effectively with subordinates. Ability to prepare financial statements and reports. Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing and be able to make presentations to effectively represent the organization on NAF accounting programs, procedures, requirements and objectives, and/or the status of current initiatives and/or projects.Education:No positive education requirements for this position.Employment Type: OTHER
