Job description

The JM Family College Internship Program is designed to create an opportunity for college students to have meaningful work experiences that tie to their programs of study. As part of this program, you will actively contribute to your team's success, learn about JM Family's companies and culture while obtaining new skills through learning opportunities, networking events and much more.
Interns will engage in meaningful work in the Finance and Accounting field and gain insights into specific projects or tasks, providing hands-on experience, and contributing to various department initiatives. They will learn about JM Family's culture including our core values: Consideration, Cooperation, Communication, Innovation and Accountability. These core values are part of our keys to success and the skills that embody these values are what drive our success as an organization.
The ideal candidate will be available to work full-time during the school year.
Responsibilities:
  • Assist the Treasury team with ABS offerings including;
    • Review and interpretation of offering and legal documents for new deals.
    • Participate in due diligence procedures with external accountants.
  • Maintain and/or develop specialized accounting and servicing support for ABS transactions under US accounting standards and related regulations, including;
    • Asset removal based on established criteria.
    • Identify items for research within the ABS (system) and reporting.
    • Monitor pool performance for compliance with investor triggers and regulations.
    • Prepare monthly servicing reports, journal entries, and supporting documentation.
    • Participate in annual servicing audits performed by external accountants.
    • Review monthly Asset Level Disclosure (ALD) files for issues/completeness.
  • Prepare wire requests and reconciliations for daily and monthly collections related to public and private ABS transactions and conduit lines.
  • Participate in annual due diligence procedures for conduit lines and annual financial audit, performed by external accountants.
  • Analyze various general ledger accounts / supporting schedules and reconcile as necessary.

Qualifications:
  • The ideal candidate will be actively enrolled in a bachelor's or master's degree-seeking program at an accredited college or university, with a focus in a relevant field. Candidates in related fields will also be considered. Must have completed at least one semester of coursework.
