Job description

GMT was founded in 1986, we are dedicated to the sale and distribution of chilled, frozen food and dry goods.

  • Maintain costs of raw material and finished goods up to date.
  • Analyze manufacturing costs of raw materials and maintain bill of materials components including cost type, overhead, quantities, scrap, etc.
  • Recognition of assembly of finished goods including any cost variances.
  • Assign all components of landed costs of finished goods.
  • Prepare and complete internal cost audits.
  • Analyze cost revaluation effect in the general ledger.
  • Responsible for inventory valuation method and cost of goods sold.
  • Comply with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) for financial statements.
  • Analyze the data collected and log a detailed record of the results.
  • Analyze any changes in goods or services provided to determine what effect it has on the cost.
  • Assist in audits and general ledger preparation.
  • Conduct physical inventories and monitor the cycle count program.
  • Prepare journal entries.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or related field.
  • 5 years of Cost Accounting work experience.
  • Sound understanding of accounting principles.
  • Solid cost systems background.
  • Analytical thinker with strong conceptual and problem-solving skills.
