To thrive as an Accountant, you need strong analytical abilities, attention to detail, and a solid understanding of accounting principles, generally supported by a degree in accounting or finance and often a CPA certification. Familiarity with accounting software such as QuickBooks, SAP, or Excel, as well as knowledge of tax laws and financial regulations, is typically required. Accountants often collaborate with departments such as operations, sales, and IT to ensure accurate financial reporting and compliance. A common challenge is communicating complex financial concepts to colleagues who may not have a finance background, requiring clear and concise explanations. Accountants must also adapt to varying priorities and timelines, balancing their own deadlines with those of other teams. Building strong relationships and proactively addressing misunderstandings can help create smoother workflows and more effective collaboration.

  • Oversee client accounting functions and take ownership of ongoing books and financial reporting
  • Review work prepared by senior and staff accountants, ensuring accuracy and quality control
  • Supervise and mentor team members, supporting development and performance
  • Act as a front-line leader in managing and growing the firm's book of business
  • Partner with leadership to improve processes and support practice growth

What You'll Bring
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field required; Master's in Accountancy or Taxation (MTax) preferred
  • Active CPA license required
  • 7+ years of progressive public accounting experience across tax and assurance
  • 3+ years in a supervisory or management role, overseeing staff and engagements
  • Proven experience managing complex client engagements across multiple entity types (S corps, C corps, partnerships, trusts, estates)
  • Background in a public accounting firm strongly preferred
  • Advanced knowledge of tax law, compliance, and planning strategies
  • Strong expertise in reviewing complex tax returns across entity types
  • Deep understanding of GAAP, GAAS, and governmental accounting (GASB/GAGAS)
  • Proficiency with tax and audit technologies (e.g., UltraTax, CCH Axcess, ONESOURCE, or similar)
  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel
  • Strong communication and presentation skills
  • Strategic thinker with sound business judgment
  • Ability to simplify and convey complex concepts effectively
  • Team leadership and multi-engagement management
  • Client relationship management and advisory expertise
  • Performance management with a focus on quality and client satisfaction

What We Offer
