Middle School Boys Basketball Coach Position
Employment Type: Coaching Stipend Position
Bland County Public Schools is seeking a dedicated and motivated individual to serve as the Middle School Boys Basketball Coach. The successful candidate will provide leadership, instruction, and mentorship to student-athletes while promoting teamwork, sportsmanship, discipline, and academic success.
Responsibilities:
? Plan and conduct organized basketball practices focused on skill development, fundamentals, and team improvement.
? Teach proper basketball techniques, including ball handling, shooting, passing, defense, rebounding, and game strategies.
? Develop practice plans that promote player growth, teamwork, and confidence.
? Create a positive team culture built on respect, accountability, effort, and sportsmanship.
? Supervise student-athletes during practices, games, and team activities.
? Communicate effectively with student-athletes, parents, school staff, and athletic administration.
? Encourage student-athletes to maintain academic success and positive behavior.
? Ensure compliance with school division policies, athletic guidelines, and safety procedures.
? Maintain knowledge of basketball rules, coaching techniques, and player safety practices.
Qualifications:
? Previous basketball coaching experience preferred.
? Knowledge of basketball fundamentals and middle school player development.
