Description

The Staff Accountant is responsible for supporting day-to-day accounting operations, including general ledger maintenance, account reconciliations, and month-end close activities. This role ensures the accuracy and integrity of financial records by preparing journal entries, maintaining fixed asset and lease accounting schedules, and supporting bank, credit card, and balance sheet reconciliations. The Staff Accountant also assists with financial audits, compliance requirements, and process improvements, while collaborating with cross-functional teams to support efficient and accurate financial reporting. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, analytical, organized, dependable, and a strong team player with effective communication skills.

Requirements What You Will Need
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required.
  • At least 2 years of accounting experience
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office applications, including Word and Outlook
What Will Put You Ahead
  • 3-5 years of accounting experience preferred.
  • Manufacturing, food processing, agriculture, accounting experience preferred.

  • Prepare and complete monthly bank reconciliations for all company bank accounts.
  • Prepare and reconcile monthly corporate credit card statements to the general ledger.
  • Maintain detailed fixed asset listings to support property tax filings, including asset additions, disposals, and transfers.
  • Maintain fixed asset records, depreciation schedules, and CIP expenditure tracking.
  • Prepare and maintain lease accounting schedules in accordance with ASC 842 requirements.
  • Support accounts payable and accounts receivable accounting functions as needed.
  • Prepare and post monthly journal entries, ensuring accuracy and compliance with GAAP.
  • Perform monthly balance sheet account reconciliations and resolve reconciling items timely.
  • Assist with month-end, and year-end close processes.
  • Prepare audit schedules, reconciliations, and supporting documentation for financial audits.
  • Ensure compliance with internal controls, accounting policies, and company procedures.
  • Participate in process improvement initiatives to enhance accounting efficiency and accuracy.
  • Perform other accounting and finance duties as assigned.
