Description:

Position Purpose:

The DAS Specialist is responsible for supporting deposit account operations through accurate account maintenance, documentation review, quality control, and document retention activities. This position ensures customer accounts and related records are maintained in accordance with bank policy, regulatory requirements, and established service standards while providing timely support for internal partners and customer-facing teams.

Key Accountabilities:

  • Review, research, and complete maintenance requests for existing customer accounts, including helpdesk tickets, daily reports, and service-related updates.
  • Process dormant account forms, maintain related logs, and ensure appropriate follow-up in accordance with policy and procedure.
  • Establish, update, and maintain customer account alerts, messages, and selected Treasury Management products and services.
  • Process authorized monetary entries and other account adjustments accurately and within required service timeframes.
  • Review new and existing deposit account documentation for completeness, accuracy, and alignment with core system parameters.
  • Perform quality control reviews on account setups, renewals, and maintenance activities completed by other specialists to ensure consistency and compliance.
  • Retrieve and process applicable reports and requests related to IntraFi account activity, renewals, and documentation.
  • Receive, review, and validate legal and customer documents such as death certificates, guardianship papers, trust agreements, letters of authority, and powers of attorney to support accurate customer profiles and account records.
  • Index and retain customer documentation in the bank's document retention system in accordance with recordkeeping requirements.
  • Maintain logs and controls related to monetary instruments and returned customer items, including debit cards, interest checks, and tax documents received due to bad address.
Requirements:

Qualifications, Knowledge and Skills:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; associate degree in business, finance, or a related field preferred.
  • Banking, deposit operations, retail banking, or related financial services experience preferred.
  • Experience reviewing documentation, performing quality control, and maintaining accurate records in a high-volume environment preferred.
  • Working knowledge of deposit products, account maintenance processes, and general banking regulations is helpful.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to identify discrepancies in account records and documentation.
  • Ability to prioritize work, manage multiple requests, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced, time-sensitive environment.
  • Solid analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills with the ability to work collaboratively across departments.
  • Ability to handle sensitive customer and account information with a high degree of confidentiality and professionalism.
  • Proficiency with core banking systems and Microsoft Office applications, especially Outlook, Word, and Excel.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to view computer screens and read reports for long periods of time.
  • Ability to work under sometimes distracting work conditions.
  • Ability to move files of up to 15 lbs.
  • Ability to sit for long periods at a time.
  • Ability to travel to attend meetings or training.
