Position Summary

Seattle Bank's Senior Relationship Manager (RM) is a strategic client-facing role responsible for managing high-value commercial relationships and driving complex lending solutions. This position requires deep financial acumen, strong credit expertise, and a proven ability to develop and grow a portfolio of commercial clients. The Senior RM acts as a trusted advisor to clients, delivering customized financial strategies that support clients' objectives.ย ย 

This role involves building strong relationships with clients, understanding their financial needs and business goals, structuring complex credit requests, and driving negotiations. This position will work closely and collaboratively with other Relationship Managers, Credit Administration, and others to deliver an exceptional client experience.ย ย 

This position is based in our downtown Seattle office and requires full-time, in-person work.ย ย ย 


Essential Duties

Strategic Client Managementย 

  • Lead relationship development with key commercial clients and strategic partners.ย ย 
  • Serve as a strategic advisor, identifying opportunities to deepen relationships and deliver value-added solutions.ย 

Complex Credit Structuringย 

  • Originate, structure, and negotiate sophisticated credit deals including term loans, lines of credit, asset-based and transactional credits.ย ย 
  • Oversee and engage in complex credit analysis and underwriting, ensuring sound risk assessment and compliance with regulatory standards.ย 

Portfolio Oversightย 

  • Manage a portfolio of high-value commercial accounts, ensuring profitability, credit quality, and client satisfaction.ย 
  • Monitor market trends and proactively manage risk exposure within the portfolio.ย 

Business Development & Market Expansionย 

  • Drive new business acquisition through targeted prospecting, networking, and referral partnerships that are mutually beneficial to the Bank and our clients.ย ย 
  • Represent the Bank at industry events and in the community to enhance visibility and brand reputation.ย 

Leadership & Mentorshipย 

  • Mentor junior relationship managers and credit analysts, contributing to the team's development.ย 
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to improve processes and client experience.ย 

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience. Higher education is preferred.ย ย 
  • 10+ years' experience in private or commercial banking, or wealth management. 5+ years' experience as relationship or portfolio manager.ย 
  • Strong understanding of credit analysis, loan structuring, and financial products and services. Deep experience with commercial credit underwriting, including term, revolving and transactional credits. Familiarity with real estate and other secured financing.ย ย ย 
  • Strong work ethic and sense of urgency. Motivated by high goals and driven to solve problems to get deals done.ย ย 
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills. Able to effectively present information and influence customers, internal stakeholders, and outcomes.ย ย ย 
  • Demonstrated success working independently and as a team player to manage high-value commercial relationships and achieve revenue targets.ย ย 
  • High energy but cool under pressure, with a strong point of view and low ego.ย ย 
  • Able to manage multiple clients, tasks and projects effectively. Well organized, and attentive to details and deadlines.ย 
  • Strong knowledge of regulatory requirements and risk management practices.ย ย 
  • Proficient with PowerPoint and Excel, and able to quickly learn other relevant business systems.ย ย
