About the Role

As a Patient Accounts Representative at Quincy Medical Group, you will play a key role in supporting the revenue cycle by managing patient billing, account resolution, and financial communication. Working closely with patients, insurance providers, and internal departments, you will ensure accurate account processing, timely resolution of billing inquiries, and exceptional customer service. This position requires strong attention to detail, professionalism, and the ability to navigate sensitive financial conversations with empathy and clarity.

Schedule

  • Full-time position, Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM.
  • Position based in Quincy, Illinois.
  • Standard weekday schedule with no weekends or holidays.
  • Office-based revenue cycle environment focused on accuracy, compliance, and patient support.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Manage patient accounts including billing, adjustments, payments, and account reconciliation.
  • Respond to patient inquiries regarding statements, balances, insurance claims, and payment options.
  • Review and resolve insurance denials and underpayments in coordination with payers and internal teams.
  • Process payments and set up payment arrangements according to organizational policies.
  • Verify insurance information and ensure accurate billing of services.
  • Maintain accurate documentation within billing and electronic systems.
  • Work assigned accounts in a timely and efficient manner to ensure proper revenue cycle flow.
  • Communicate with patients in a professional and compassionate manner regarding financial responsibilities.
  • Collaborate with insurance companies, providers, and internal departments to resolve account issues.
  • Support adherence to billing compliance guidelines and organizational policies.
  • Perform other duties as assigned to support revenue cycle operations.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Previous experience in healthcare billing, patient accounts, customer service, or revenue cycle preferred.
  • Strong communication, problem-solving, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to manage sensitive financial conversations with professionalism and empathy.
  • Experience with billing systems or electronic medical records preferred.
  • High attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and account management.
  • Ability to work independently while meeting productivity and quality standards.
  • Commitment to confidentiality and compliance in all financial processes.
