Accounts Receivable Specialist

Location: Gaithersburg, MD 20879
Pay: $23.00 - $26.00 per hour
Job Type: Full-time
Schedule: Monday to Friday, 8-hour day shift (on-site)


About the Role

Valor Fleet Services is seeking a detail-oriented and dependable Accounts Receivable Specialist to join our growing team. The ideal candidate is trustworthy, hardworking, and brings a positive, can-do attitude to the workplace. This role requires strong computer skills and hands-on experience with QuickBooks.


Key Responsibilities

  • Post Virtual Credit Card (VCC) payments in QuickBooks
  • Deposit and apply live customer checks
  • Prepare and send monthly customer statements
  • Process customer credit card refunds and payment adjustments, including accurate posting in QuickBooks
  • Manage and resolve credit card chargebacks
  • Process and post ACH payments to QuickBooks
  • Oversee the Accounts Receivable process, including collections on past-due invoices
  • Prepare credit account applications and manage tax-exempt documentation (e.g., Form ST-10)
  • Respond to customer requests (W-9s, Certificates of Insurance, address changes, account discrepancies, etc.)
  • Perform additional duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • QuickBooks experience (required)
  • Some accounting experience (required)
  • Strong organizational and communication skills
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines
  • Microsoft Excel experience (preferred)
  • 1-2 years of accounting or accounts receivable experience (preferred)
