Position Overview

Lyon Bakery Inc. is seeking a highly driven, analytical, and results-oriented Accounts Receivable Manager to join our growing finance team. This is an exciting opportunity for a finance professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment and is passionate about strengthening financial operations, improving cash flow, and supporting business growth.

In this role, you will report to the CFO and lead the Accounts Receivable function while supporting Accounts Payable operations, manage and mentor a small accounting team, and play a key role in monthly financial close and reporting processes. You will work closely with leadership to ensure financial accuracy, compliance, and operational efficiency.

This role is designed for a high-potential accounting professional ready to grow into an Accounting Manager position as the company continues to expand.


Key Responsibilities

Accounts Receivable Leadership

  • Lead and manage the Accounts Receivable team, ensuring accurate and timely invoicing, collections, and cash application.
  • Develop and monitor AR performance metrics, aging reports, and collection strategies to improve cash flow.
  • Oversee customer accounts, credit limits, and dispute resolution to maintain strong client relationships.
  • Ensure accurate client statements, cash receipts, refunds, and account reconciliations.

Month-End Close & Financial Reporting

  • Play a key role in the monthly, quarterly, and year-end close process.
  • Prepare and review journal entries, account reconciliations, and general ledger activity.
  • Assist with the preparation of financial statements in accordance with GAAP.
  • Analyze financial data and identify discrepancies or improvement opportunities.

Compliance & Audit Support

  • Perform bank reconciliations and oversee day-to-day banking activities.
  • Support external CPA firms with year-end audits, reviewed financial statements, and tax preparation.
  • Maintain strong internal controls and ensure compliance with company policies.

Budgeting & Financial Insights

  • Assist in developing and monitoring weekly, monthly & annual budgets, forecasts, and variance analysis.
  • Prepare executive-level financial reports with actionable insights.
  • Support leadership with financial data needed to guide strategic decisions.

Leadership & Team Development

  • Supervise and mentor accounting staff across AR functions.
  • Ensure compliance with accounting procedures and standard operating processes (SOPs).
  • Conduct performance evaluations and provide coaching to develop team capabilities.
  • Partner with cross-functional departments to ensure financial processes support operational goals.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance (required)
  • 3–5+ years of progressive accounting experience (required)
  • Proven experience in Accounts Receivable leadership and collections management
  • Manufacturing and/or distribution experience (preferred)
  • Strong knowledge of month-end close procedures
  • Solid understanding of GAAP and financial statement preparation
  • Experience managing or mentoring accounting staff
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to collaborate across departments
  • Experience with SAP Business One & QuickBooks Online preferred
